A large, established law firm in Birmingham is seeking to add a Floater Legal Assistant/Secreatry to their team. This role will provide continual and consistent administrative support to the Attorneys and the firm.

Responsibilities:

Maintain records of client files, including opening and closing of files.
Edit, format, print and revise all letters, memos, reports, forms, labels and other printed material.
Takes dictation and transcribes into final form for correspondence.
Draft pleadings and perform e-filing with various State and Federal Courts.
Open and close client files and maintain files keeping them organized and current, both in electronic and hard copy format.
Answer phone calls, take notes, messages and redirect calls when appropriate.
Performs routine filing and retrieves closed files when requested.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of Legal Secretary experience.
Litigation or Corporate experience
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Skill in typing and transcribing at a rate of 70 + wpm with a high rate of accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills
