Roles and Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing management with relevant financial data necessary for budgetary and financial decisions. The position involves general accounting, property accounting internal auditing and budgetary controls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepare an array of General Ledger (GL) Journal entries, including month end entries, adjusting entries, computerized entries etc.
2. Assist in the management and production of quarterly, annual reports, such as State Unemployment Insurance, quarterly Federal 941 reporting, annual reports, W-2's, etc.
3. Be competent in all aspects of PR, in the absence of PR Manager.
4. Assist the controller in all aspects of Fixed Assets (FA) management, utilizing the Sage/ MIP software package for management and depreciation of FA. This includes inventories, schedules, gathering financial data, entering financial data into MIP software, and reporting.
5. Assists, as requested, in the accounts receivable / billing / insurance aspect of company to include reports, research and many other aspects of AR.
6. Protect the confidentiality of all payroll/organization / records information.
7. Assist in the production of month end reports, related to monthly Finance Meetings.
8. Assist the Controller, and Chief Financial Officer, in any duties as requested.
9. Assist Accounts Payable Manager in all facets of the production and management of Accounts Payable operations.
10. Assist the Financial Specialist in the daily production of mail/cash receipts and deposits
11. Assist in taking deposit to the bank, and related reports.

12. Assist in any unspecified project, not noted above.

1. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA Privacy Rule) policies
and procedures.
2. Must successfully complete Privacy Rule compliance training annually or as revisions are
made to the policies and procedures
PERFOMANCE STANDARDS:
1. Performance will be evaluated by the Controller annually where on an overall rating of
satisfactory is considered as a minimum acceptable level of performance. OSHA RATING: Low
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to sit; talk; listen/hear. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk; stoop or crouch. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, and ability to adjust focus. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Must be able to express ideals, clearly and concisely and; exercise balanced judgement in evaluation situations and making decisions and; communicate information to client/staff.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration; Accounting major preferred.
2. Three (3) to five (5) years accounting experience required and three (3) years payroll experience. Healthcare accounting experience preferred.
3. Knowledge skills and abilities:
a. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures on manual and automated systems.
b. Operates personal computer, calculator, and other office equipment..
c. Knowledge of excel and Microsoft Office.
d. Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
e. Management skills.
4. Other Qualifications:
English as first language or Bilingual/bicultural will be considered.

2. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively work as a team member with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

4. Must demonstrate trustworthiness and dependability and high work ethic.
