Relevant Work Experience:
A minimum of two years supervising the blending of edible mixes is required. Experiences should include process formulation in a food processing environment and knowing how to operate and perform maintenance on mill blending machinery.

Education Level: B.S. degree in Food Processing is preferred.  Related long term experiences in Quality and Maintenance in a manufacturing setting can be substituted for degree requirements.  Post-secondary courses in electronics and an understanding of computer-controlled machinery are highly desirable.

Job Description

·         Provide leadership to and management of subordinates;  effectively select, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of subordinates; provide direction for improvement work skills, and fosters positive Company attitude; monitor and document employee warnings, absences, tardiness, vacation, and time-off.

·         Make operational input to the Blending Manager and translate strategic planning into production activities; ensure production schedule meets customer needs; promote physical resource improvements to match core business requirements; ensures plant security.

·         Sponsor the professional growth and development of subordinates and share responsibility for self-development; support a work environment where co-workers with divergent views are welcomed and solicited; create an environment where creativity in product development and/or enhancement is expected and rewarded;  appreciate and support the operating philosophy of the Company.

·         Decrease (and eventually eliminate) waste due to errors; creativity and employee involvement are solicited and encouraged; subordinates adhere to the concept of constant improvement in the quality of their product.

·         Scheduling and daily planning processes indicate a sound understanding of blending edible mixes, industry standards, budget restrictions and cost controls, production capabilities, facility capabilities, and value-added production methods.

·         Production line flow operates efficiently:  “demand flow” production schedules are met or exceeded; production problems are immediately evaluated and assistance is provided for their rapid solution.

·         Adequate leadership and management are provided to enable achievement of plant goals, excellent personnel performance, and employee growth through significant coaching and skills development.

·         All production paperwork, records, and reports are completed accurately and submitted in time to meet any exiting deadline; personnel records are confidentially maintained and retired in accordance with exiting policy.

·         Personnel complaints and worker problems arising on the job receive prompt, fair, and impartial attention; files are maintained to enable review of the circumstances and to support Company decisions.

·         Supervising and motivating team of workers.

·         Ensure complete compliance to prescribed SQF and GMP’s.

·         Manage and maintain Master Sanitation schedule.

·         Must be well versed in the use of personal computers and be familiar with database and spreadsheet applications.

·         Strong people skills; must be able to lead, delegate, instruct, counsel, coordinate, and correct.  Well-developed oral and written communication skills; strong listening and negotiation and good organization and planning skills are required.
